North Texas Asian American community came out on August 19th at Best Thai restaurant in Dallas to help support a worthy charity event, benefiting the visually impaired children in the country of Laos. Attendees were treated with delicious Thai food, dancing and singing performances, including a special appearance by the current Miss Teen Asian American Texas Vanyda Boulom and singing by Thailand Idol Panuwat “Copter” Kerdthongtavee. Copter is a rising celebrity idol from the country of Thailand. On his own time and expenses, Copter flew from Thailand to Dallas in support of the charity. Many of the guests enjoyed meeting and taking pictures with Copter and Vanyda.
Nina Bounnynasane, founder of the Laos Thai Making A Difference Foundation, hosted the charity event, in partner and support of Jess Virattanajun, former President of the Thai Community Center in North Texas. Nina said, “Funds from the event will help provide necessary needs, like food and supplies, for the visually impaired students of Laos.” If you like to help or donate, visit www.ltmadf.org
